The second workshop of our ValueFacturing SMEs project took place in Tirana (Albania) on 22 October 2024.

The training explored, among other things, the concept of Global Value Chains (GVCs) in the manufacturing sector, the factors facilitating and hindering the participation of Albanian SMEs in GVCs, and highlighted the role of social dialogue and collective bargaining in the governance of GVCs.

The project aims to increase the competitiveness of manufacturing SMEs in global value chains through social dialogue by identifying and promoting industry-specific social dialogue practices (at national and European level) that can contribute to improving the quality of the European labour market in order to make it more attractive for the start-up and development of SMEs. In addition, a multilingual decalogue of practical procedures and guidelines for social dialogue at company, sectoral and European level will be produced.

Our next workshop will be held in Budapest in early 2025 to explore and present the situation in Hungary and to involve sectoral actors.
