The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry maintains its records, carries out its statistical data collection, data processing and information provision activities in accordance with the applicable legislation and EU regulations in force at any given time; handles personal data held by the chamber. In the case of all processes (activities), an inventory of personal data assets and risk analysis are prepared. The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry acts with great care in its data management and processing, which serves to prevent the occurrence of data protection incidents.

The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hereinafter referred to as the data controller, acknowledges the content of the declaration as binding on it, but reserves the right to change the declaration, provided that it notifies the data subjects of the changes in due time.

The data controller attaches great importance to respecting the right of its customers to self-determination of information. It treats personal data confidentially and takes all measures to ensure the security of the data.

Data management principles:

Personal data can be processed if

(a) the data subject consents (voluntarily), or

  1. b) it is ordered by law (other legislation) or a local government decree on the basis of its authorization for a purpose based on the public interest (mandatory).

Personal data may be transferred and the various data processing operations may be combined if the data subject has consented to it or is permitted by law and if the conditions for data processing are met for each personal data.

Personal data may only be processed for a specific purpose, in order to exercise a specific right and fulfill an obligation.

Only personal data that is essential for the realization of the purpose of data processing, suitable for the achievement of the purpose, may be processed only to the extent and for the time necessary for the realization of the purpose. Voluntary personal data may only be processed with informed consent.

The data subject shall be informed in a clear, comprehensible and detailed manner of all facts relating to the processing of his data, in particular the purpose and legal basis of the processing, the person authorized to process and process the data, the duration of the processing and who may have access. The information should also cover the data subject’s rights and remedies.

The use of a general and uniform personal identification mark that can be used without restrictions is prohibited.

Scope of personal data

Data management is based on voluntary consent.

We would like to draw the attention of informants to the fact that if they do not provide their own personal data, it is the duty of the informant to obtain the consent of the data subject.

The scope of the managed data: username, password, surname and first name, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, company name, date and time of registration.

Deadline for deleting data: ten years from the last registration, and in the case of consents to the newsletter, until the consent is withdrawn. The accounting documents are kept for 8 years pursuant to Section 169 (2) of Act C of 2000 on Accounting. Personnel data from employment and assignments may not be discarded in accordance with the law; in this case, the legal basis for data processing is the fulfillment of a legal obligation

Remedies

The data subject may request information on the processing of his or her personal data, as well as request the correction or deletion of his or her personal data, with the exception of data processing prescribed by law, in the manner indicated in the data collection.

At the request of the data subject, the data controller shall provide information on the data processed by the processor or the data controller, the purpose, legal basis, duration, name, address (registered office) and activities of the data controller, as well as who and for what purpose they receive or have received the data. The data controller shall provide the information in writing in a comprehensible form as soon as possible after the submission of the request, but no later than within 30 days. This information shall be free of charge if the person requesting the information has not yet submitted a request for information on the same area to the controller in the current year. In other cases, the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry will reimburse costs.

The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry deletes personal data if its processing is illegal, the data subject requests it, the purpose of data processing has ceased or the time limit for storing data has expired, ordered by a court or the National Data Protection and Freedom of Information Authority.

The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry notifies the data subject of the rectification and deletion, as well as all those to whom the data was previously transmitted for data management purposes. It shall withhold notification if it does not harm the legitimate interests of the data subject with regard to the purpose of the processing.

The data subject may object to the processing of his or her personal data if

  1. a) the processing (transfer) of personal data is necessary only for the enforcement of the right or legitimate interest of the data controller or the data recipient, unless the data processing has been ordered by law;

(b) personal data are used or transmitted for the purposes of direct business acquisition, public opinion polling or scientific research;

  1. c) the exercise of the right to protest is otherwise permitted by law.

The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry – with the simultaneous suspension of data processing – shall examine the protest as soon as possible, but not later than within 15 days from the submission of the application, and shall inform the applicant in writing of the result. If the objection is justified, the controller shall terminate the processing, including further data collection and transfer, and block the data, as well as notify all persons to whom the personal data affected by the objection have previously been transmitted and who shall take action on the objection. are obliged to take measures to enforce the right to protest.

If the data subject does not agree with the decision made by the data controller, he or she may appeal against it to the court within 30 days of its notification.

The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry may not delete the data subject’s data if the data processing has been ordered by law. However, the data may not be transferred to the data recipient if the data controller has agreed to the protest or the court has established the legitimacy of the protest.

If the data subject’s rights are violated, he or she may take legal action against the data controller. The court is acting out of turn in the case.
