Learning by Doing
Project name: Targeted capacity building of VET partnerships in the Danube Region for the effective modernisation of VET systems
The project “Learning by Doing” aimed to develop a Vocational Education and Training (VET) framework to better serve the labour market needs in the Danube region within Danube Transnational Programme in which the main goal was to improve the capacities of all relevant VET actors through reinforcing regional, national and transnational partnerships in order to ease the transition of existing VET systems towards Work-Based Learning.
One of the outputs was developing the manual that will serve as a guidance for the transition of existing VET systems into Work-Based Learning systems. A further milestone was the creation of a state-of-the-art knowledge centre providing access to the most up-to-date knowledge about vocational education and training, namely Work-Based Learning Observatory http://observatory.honlapkeszites.eu/ set up as the transnational network of VET expert organizations founded by the Danube WBL partners in order to promote WBL in VET and to serve as the transition point of VET with professional services.
Learning by Doing was a strategic project based on the decision of the Danube Transnational Programme. All Danube region countries are involved (14 countries, with 24 partners), including chambers and national level vocational training authorities. The project is co-financed by the European Union and the Hungarian State, as part of the Danube Transnational Programme within Well-governed Danube region priority within specific objective to improve institutional capacities to tackle major societal issues.
